I’m back with another review! Today it’s on a few products from the Rimmel Insta range that launched a while ago. I’ve been trying out the contour stick, setting powder and the concealing and colour correcting palette. I have far too many concealers and setting sprays to get through so I opted to just try these 3 products.
So I got this in the palest shade, obviously, which is just called light. The highlighter side of this is slightly too dark on me when I am at my palest but I can make it work. Recently I’ve been liking applying this on the high points of my face underneath my foundation to just give me a subtle glow, also applying it this way means you don’t need to worry too much about blending, but it does blend beautifully and it doesn’t affect other products I apply on top which is perfect. Now the contour side is a little bit on the warm side in colour but it can work as a day time contour pretty well, it does blend well but maybe not as well as my go to at the moment, which I reviewed here but I do like it, I find the best way to blend it is with a damp sponge because a brush can move it around too much and affect your foundation underneath, but once that done and you set your face it looks really nice and it lasts a good amount of time too.
Colour Correcting Palette:
I was really excited to try this, I do use at least one colour correcting product a day and these 3 shades are the only colour correcting colours I use. There is a peach to cancel out dark circles, then a green to cancel out redness and blemishes and lilac to brighten. I actually really enjoy this palette, the consistency is really light and smooth, maybe a tiny bit greasy but not enough to be a problem, and I have an oily T-zone but it hasn’t been a problem for me at all. These aren’t the most pigmented colour correcting concealers I’ve used but they do a pretty good job for me, and sometimes I really need them. Again once these are set on the face they last a pretty long time, and I always put the green on under foundation, but the peach and lilac work well for me on top of foundation but under concealer if needed.
Fix and Matte Powder:
well… I love this, as I’ve said I have an oily T-zone and I NEED to powder every day and I do top up if needed and I have been using only this for weeks now, I’m nearly hitting pan! I have always loved the Rimmel Stay Matte powder, but I think I have replaced it with this as my go to. It is very finely milled so it feels great on the skin, it is white in colour but doesn’t leave a white cast on your face which I find can be a problem and it keeps me matte for hours. Depending on the day I do need to top up but even when I do with this powder I don’t look cakey, it builds nicely. So this was the favourite for me and the most used out of the 3 products.
Hope you’re all having a lovely week, I’ll be back soon with another post! let me know if you want me to do anything specific and I’ll try my best.
Sinead 🙂 xx
