So we’re in the middle of summer and for alot of us that means our choices for meals may be a little different, I know on a hot day I can’t stomach a bowl of porridge although I find it delicious when it’s hot… I just can’t deal. A smoothie bowl for me is the way to go, I do love a traditional smoothie, so I do adapt my faves into a smoothie bowl.
The recipe I am going to share is the easiest and tastiest one that I make and is a basic recipe, perfect for people who maybe haven’t tried a smoothie bowl yet.
- Large frozen Banana
- Handful frozen strawberries
- Handful frozen raspberries
- Handful frozen blueberries
- Handful of spinach
- Drop of Almond milk
- Toppings of your choice
I usually add things such as, granola, chia seeds, nuts, berries, chopped banana etc. To be honest this is down to personal preference, most things go really well with this particular recipe.
So in some sort of blender/smoothie maker add all ingredients, add almond milk bit by bit, as you blend, the consistency should look something like ice-cream/sorbet. then pour into a bowl and add toppings of your choice.
this is a super quick and easy breakfast to make and if you want a bit of protein in the morning maybe make a couple of hard boiled eggs on the side, or if you have protein powder add a scoop into the mixture.
